Ernest W. Taylor Lyman Rev. Ernest Willie Taylor, 93, formerly of 22 Lawrence Street, widower of Pearl Idalene Beacham Taylor, died February 3, 2008, at Falls Creek Living Center. A native of Wiley, Georgia, and former resident of Anderson, S.C., he was the son of the late Dewitt Frazier and Lula Rosetta Lovell Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a self-employed Southern Gospel music teacher, an ordained minister, and a member of Praise Cathedral. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ed Walker of Greer; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sheila Taylor of Inman; two grandchildren, Lou Ann Smith of Greer and Robbie Taylor and his wife, Megan of Wellford; and four great-grandchildren, Walker Smith, Lydia Smith, Alan Taylor and McKinna Taylor. Mr. Taylor was predeceased by two brothers, Dewey Taylor and Zeb Taylor, and two sisters, Lizzie Cobb and Susie Holcombe. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Praise Cathedral, conducted by Rev. Jerry Madden and Rev. Bobby Johnson. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park. Honorary escort will be his former music students. Visitation will be held 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at Praise Cathedral. The family is at the home of his daughter, Judy and Ed Walker, 524 Forest Court, Greer. Memorials may be made to Praise Cathedral Music Department, 3390 Brushy Creek Road, Greer, S.C. 29650. {contributed by Cathy Griffith} ∼Born near Clayton, GA, Lived his early years at Gluke Mill, Anderson, SC Moved to Lyman at the Age of 9. He studied piano, accordian and received his music teachers certificate from the LeRoy Abernathy gospel music school. Atlanta, GA. He was a former employee of Pacific Mills, Lyman and a retired music teacher. He was involved in church music and was an ordained Minister in the Pentecostal Holiness Denomination. He married Pearl Beacham (daughter of the Rev. Hart and Lou Burgess Beacham) May 1, 1937 and they have 2 children, Judith (Judy) Walker and Robert Ernest Taylor.
