Description	:	Son of George and Jane (Edwards) Roberts; Married Ann Hughes October 14, 1830, had two sons: Thomas, b. April 9, 1833, and John, b. January 1, 1835. Moved from Ebensberg to Andover in April, 1834. Wife Ann died Jan. 4, 1837; Remarried Hannah Ann Jeannette Marvin, daughter of Lebbeus & Clarissa (Smith) Marvin on June 21, 1838, in Ashtabula County, Ohio, and settled permanently in Williamsfield. Became minister at the First Congregational Church, built in 1831 after fire destroyed the original meeting house, organized in 1816 by settlers in Wayne and Williamsfield. Wayne church members soon after built a new church closer to their town center in 1832, and Williamsfield church members built a new church nearer to their town center in 1847. The original church building was then given to Rev. George Roberts II as a family home and farm. The Roberts Cemetery is behind the house and is named for the family. Rev. George Roberts and wife Hannah had ten children of their own: Mary Jane b. 1839, David Lewis b. 1840 (who inherited the farm & raised his own family there), Ann b. 1843, Rhoda b.1844, Edward Payson b. 1847, Clarissa b. 1849, Lebbeus b. 1851, Howard b. 1853, Harlan Page b. 1854, George Cheever b. 1856 (four of their twelve children died in the Cholera epidemic of 1854, and are buried in the family cemetery). George Roberts died at age 50 on May 17, 1857, at West Williamsfield. Wife Hannah Roberts died there on October 24, 1887, at age 72. Both are buried in the Roberts cemetery. Their son David Lewis Roberts and his wife Melissa (Brockway) Roberts continued to live & farm there, raise a family of their own, and are now buried there.
