Description	:	"Rev. George W. THOMPSON, was the son of John and Lydia A Thompson. He entered the U.S. Army in 1862, and after his service he married Miss Phoebe Ann Ford, 27 July 1865, at Lafayette, Wis. She was the dau of Philo and Sallie FORD. He subsequently moved to Kansas and was converted and becoming acquainted with Freewill Baptists through Rev. Ives Marks [bro to noted David Marks, NY], he joined them and was ordained Jan. 1, 1878.
