Born in Startex, he was the husband of Carolyn Jean Parker Patton and first married to the late Barbara Lawson Patton and the son of the late Clarence Patton and Nellie Guy Patton. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. Rev. Patton was a retired Pastor from Riverside Baptist Church in Belton, and also served as Pastor of Pacolet Road Baptist Church and Berry Memorial Baptist Church in Gaffney. Rev. Patton was a member of Brown's Chapel Baptist Church. He loved preaching and gospel music. In addition to his wife, also surviving is a daughter, Cindy Gardner and husband, Kenneth of Gaffney; four sons, Rev. Harold Dean Patton, Jr. and wife, Susan of Reidville, Bobby Patton and wife, Janice of Gaffney and Michael Patton and wife, Kelly of Gaffney and Stephen Patton and wife, Melissa of Rising Fawn, Ga.; two step-daughters, Teri Peterson and husband, Kip of Campobello and Crystal Spruill and husband, Halford of Asheville, N.C.; a sister, Carolyn Antley of Startex; nineteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Rev. Patton was preceded in death by two brothers, David Patton and Ed Patton; and a sister, Juanita Rhinehart. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Dean Patton, Jr. and Rev. Ralph Jet officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to: Brown's Chapel Baptist Church, 350 Green Street, Pacolet Mills, S.C., 29373.
