Description	:	Funeral services for the Rev. Henry Wellhausen, D. D. (Doctor of Divinity), were conducted Tuesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carl Barneke, 312 North Pine street, by the Rev. Paul Rowoldt officiated, assisted by the Rev. C. Goede, Glenvil, Neb., president of the German Evangelical Synod of Nebraska and the Rev. G. H. Michelman, dean of Martin Luther seminary, Lincoln. Paul Rowoldt conducted the liturgical part, the Rev. C. Geode, president of synod delivered the sermon in German and the Rev. R. Moehring, Otoe, Neb., in English. Pallbearers were all ministers: Carl Goede, Glenville; Herman Goede, Colorado; G. H. Michelman, Lincoln; Rhode, Hooper; Carl Koenig, Schuyler and Wienken, the field secretary, Grand Islan. The Rev. Mr. Wellhausen, who was formerly professor in Martin Luther seminary Lincoln, died May 26, at the age of 77 years. He was born at Oelixdorf, Holstein, Germany. He received his education in Kiel gymnasium and university. In 1881, he was ordained by the state church in Oldenburg and became pastor of the congregation in Oldenbrook, Oldenburg. May 12, 1881, he married Miss Clara Kneppel and to them five children were born, Christa, Karl, Elsie, in Germany, and after coming to this country, in 1887, Rudolph and Berta were born. He served the following congregations: Beaver Falls, Perrysville, Pa.; Bridgeport, O.; Brookville, Ind.; Humboldt, S. D.; Howells, Neb.; Russell, Kan,; and for four years he was pastor of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church, Norfolk, and nine years professor in Martin Luther seminary, Lincoln. After being taken to the hospital, he became ill with erysipelas. Among those who survive are the widow, three daughters, two sons, and three grandchildren.
