Funeral services will be held Friday, January 18, 2002, at 11 a.m. in Georgetown Church of God. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. H. Leon Parker, Sr. Burial, directed by GRAHAM FUNERAL HOME, will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. He was born January 11, 1917, in Bladenboro, N.C., a son of the late William Allen Parker and Dora Smith Parker. Rev. Parker, 85, a retired Church of God minister, died Wednesday, January 16, 2002, at his home. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 18, 2002, at 11 a.m. in Georgetown Church of God. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. H. Leon Parker, Sr. Burial, directed by GRAHAM FUNERAL HOME, will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. He was born January 11, 1917, in Bladenboro, N.C., a son of the late William Allen Parker and Dora Smith Parker. Rev. Parker served numerous churches as well as serving as an evangelist during his long ministry. He was also a retired employee with Georgetown Steel Corp. and later was employed by Winn-Dixie Grocery. He was a member of the Georgetown Church of God and enjoyed reading as his hobby. Surviving are, his wife, Mary A. Parker; one son, the Rev. Dr. H. Leon Parker, Sr., of Conway; four grandchildren, Leon Parker, Jr., of Georgetown, Lisa P. Smith of Charlotte, Lynda P. Swann of Bennettsville and Rev. H. Louis Parker of Lowell, N.C.; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
