Description	:	The Rev. James Holbrook, 80, died at 9:40 p.m. Oct. 5, 2010, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Floyd County, Ky., to George W. "Wash" and Rachel Music Holbrook, who preceded him in death. On March 15, 1952, he married Ruby J. Dyer, who survives in Alger. The Rev. Mr. Holbrook worked as a maintenance electrician at Clark Equipment, Lima, for several years, and served as pastor for Tiffin Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God, Tiffin, and Quickstep Pentecostal Church God, Alger. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was known to all for the love he showed for his family and friends. Survivors include two sons, Pastor Donald (Ruth) Holbrook, of Alger, and Pastor Daniel (Peggy) Holbrook, of Wapakoneta; a daughter, Deidre Holbrook, of Alger; a brother, Gus (Betty) Holbrook, of Lima; a sister, Lillian Allen, of Lima; 13 grandchildren, including a special grandson, Alexander (Alex) James S.Holbrook, of Alger; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dale E. Holbrook; a daughter, Diana J. Holbrook; three brothers, Ballard, Jake and Gale Holbrook; three sisters, Eva Jean Butler, Letha Williams and Naoma Lowe; and his stepmother, Bertha Holbrook. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Alger Assembly of God Church, Alger. The Rev. Terry Rowland will officiate. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9381.
