He has been long known in this State as a faithful, zealous and efficient preacher of the Methodist denomination. His remains were carried to Augusta where he formerly resided, add where several members of his family are interred." Contributor: Cemetery Hopper (46953331) ---- From "Thwing: A Genealogical, Biographical, and Historical Account of the Family" Published in 1883: JAMES THWING (Nathaniel,6 Nathaniel,5 Nathaniel,4 John,3 John 2 Benjamin) was a clergyman of the Methodist church, and preached as follows: in 1828 and 1829, in Bristol; then two years in Vassalboro; one year each in Friendship, Bristol, Pittston, Bath, Georgetown, Pittston; two years in Poland; one each in Gorham and Bowdoinham ; two years in Durham; one year each in South Paris, Fairfield, Union, East Vassalboro. All the above towns are in Maine. He married Rachel Urmston, June 3, 1819, in Philadelphia, Pa. She was born July 5, 1797, in Boundbrook, N. J. He died July 18, 1848, in China, Me. She died Sept. 12, 1875, in Chicago, Ill., at the house of her son William. Children: i. Charles Henry, b. March 31, 1820, in Augusta, Me.; d. there July 25, 1827. ii. William Urmston, b. Aug. 7, 1822, in Augusta. iii. Hannah Ingraham, b. April 30, 1824, in Augusta. iv. James Greenough, b. May 20, 1826, in Augusta; d. there Aug. 1, 1827. v. Caroline Matilda, b. Feb. 18, 1828, in Vassalboro, Me.; d. in 1873; unm. vi. James Henry, b. April 22, 1830, in Bristol, Me. He is unmarried, and lives at 663 West Lake Street, Chicago, Ill. vii. Charles Greenough, b. Mar. 7, 1832, in Winslow, Me. viii. Melville Cox, b. Jan. 17, 1835, in Pittston, Me. ix. Sarah Marston, b. March 9, 1837, in Georgetown, Me.; d. June 23, 1844. x. Frederick Robinson, b. Oct. 6, 1838, in Poland, Me.; went out west some years ago, and was never heard from.
