Jerry Cannon Pace, 70, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Pace was born in Mullins, a son of the late James and Catherine Cannon Pace. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Shelton Pace. Mr. Pace was beloved husband, father, and poppy. Rev. Pace was ordained as a minister on August 20, 2017. Mr. Pace was the current pastor of Centenary Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of Nebo Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School teacher, deacon and choir member. He was a retired educator in the Brittons Neck Community where he taught Agriculture for 30 years. During that time the Brittons Neck FFA Chapter won countless awards at the local, state and national levels. Mr. Pace was well loved by his students and thought of them as his own. He coached girl's basketball and varsity baseball at Brittons Neck and also little league baseball, in which his teams won state championships in 1988 and 1990. He was an advisor to the Young Farmer Group in Brittons Neck, a member of the Brittons Neck Grange and a member of Centenary Masonic Lodge #312. As an IPTAY member and proud graduate of Clemson University, he was an avid Tiger Football fan. He bled orange. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Jean Epps Pace, of the home; son, Vince Pace (Emily) of Brittons Neck; a daughter, Ashley Pace Calhoun (Brett) of Myrtle Beach; and 3 grandchildren. - Richardson Funeral Home
