Interment will be made at Grinnell. (Oskaloosa Herald, Oskaloosa, Iowa February 23, 1893) Commander McCurdy, of Phil Kearney Post, and about a dozen of the comrades, received the remains of Rev Cavendish at the Rock Island, Wednesday morning, and transferred them to the Iowa Central depot en route for Grinnell and Malcom. Cavendish was for years a resident of Davenport, Iowa and well known in Scott county, Iowa. During the war he was a member of the Twentieth Iowa. Capt. Cavendish was a preacher in the Methodist church and much respected in religious circles. The funeral will be at Malcom, Iowa today.
