Description	:	He immigrated with his parents in May 1869 from Wommels, Hennaarderadeel, Friesland, Netherlands. They lived in Pella, Iowa, then Sioux County, Iowa, and finally settled in Bon Homme county, South Dakota. He married Maria Stoffels on March 11, 1875 in Sioux County, Iowa. They were the parents of 3 children, Ulysses, Theresa and Jirda Wynia. John Wynia was a Presbyterian Minister. While serving his church near Lake Okoboji, Iowa, his wife, Maria, died and was buried there. This cemetery has since been moved because of a new highway. It is not known where Maria's body was... It is not known where Maria's body was reburied. His Case Pronounced Hopeless Rev. John Wynia is lying at death's door at the home of his sister, Mrs. A. M. Duus, in this city. Rev. Wynia, who has been in charge of the Presbyterian church at Hagerty, in Dickinson county, came here about two weeks ago from Sioux City where he had been to consult eminent physicians in regard to his health. The doctors pronounced his ailment to be cancer of the stomach and hold out no hope for relief. An operation, if performed, would be very risky and if successful might proloong his life a year or so, but the doctors decided that an operation would almost certainly result fatally. Mr. Wynia is unable to eat and is growing rapidly weaker. He is a widower with two children. On learning the truth of his case he expressed a wish to come to his sister in LeMars. Mrs. Duus and her husband are administering to his needs and doing all in their power to assuage his suffering and soothe his last hours. Rev.
