Description	:	Rev. John William King, 80, of West Plains, MO died May 24, 2005, at his home. He was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Mountain Grove, MO, the son of Daniel and Ethyl Ann (Hall) King. He attended Couch High School and on March 31, 1944, was married at Elm Store, AR to Mable June Caldwell. He was a veteran, having served with the United States Army in the occupation of Japan during World War II. John William King, 80, of West Plains, MO died May 24, 2005, at his home. He was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Mountain Grove, MO, the son of Daniel and Ethyl Ann (Hall) King. He attended Couch High School and on March 31, 1944, was married at Elm Store, AR to Mable June Caldwell. He was a veteran, having served with the United States Army in the occupation of Japan during World War II. As well as being an ordained minister, having pastored several churches in Oregon County and Randolph County, AR; King was a cattle farmer and did appliance repair for Morse Furniture in Thayer. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors, gardening, and being with his family. King was a member of the United Freewill Baptist Church where he was active in the ministries of the church. Survivors include his wife, Mable June King, of the family home; three children, Richard King and wife, Janie, of West Plains, MO; Kenneth King and wife, Janet, of Mammoth Spring, AR; and Carolyn Westrich and husband, Don, of St. Peters, MO; two grandchildren, Ashley Harper and husband, Scott, of Caulfield, MO; and Jeremy King and wife, Jodie, of Branson; two step-grandchildren, Stacey Westrich and Stefani Westrich of Florissant, MO; and one great-grandchild, Braxton Harper. His parents preceded him in death. Funeral services for King were held May 27 at United Freewill Baptist Church. Arrangements were under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
