Description | : | ` Milton Bourne was born in 1810 in Attleboro, Massachusetts, the son of Nehemiah Bourne (1772-1834) and his wife Sarah (Barrows) Bourne (1780-1844). Milton was married 1st at Fox River, Illinois about 1839 to Rebecca Miller (1813-1850), and he was married 2nd on August 12, 1851 probably in Illinois, to Malvina Adaline Gardner (1829-1907). Earlier, in 1834 Milton volunteered as a missionary teacher among the Indians at Lake Superior. He returned to Vermont 2 years later and attended additional schooling, and in 1837 he became a Methodist Episcopal minister. He served Methodist churches throughout Illinois and Wisconsin.
