Raymond Pick. 57, Sioux City diocesan priest who serv-ed parishes at Whittemore, Lehigh, Dayton, Mallard and Ute, died Friday at a Fort Dodge hospital following a long illness. The office of the dead was recited at 10:30 at Corpus Christi Catholic church, Fort Dodge. Most Rev. Joseph M. Raymond Pick. 57, Sioux City diocesan priest who serv-ed parishes at Whittemore, Lehigh, Dayton, Mallard and Ute, died Friday at a Fort Dodge hospital following a long illness. Mueller, bishop of Sioux City, officiated at a requiem high mass at 11 a.m. Burial was in St. Cathrine's cemetery,Oyens. Father Pick attended Trinity college in Sioux City, St. John's university, Collegeville, Minn.. and Kenrick semi-nary, St. Louis, Mo. He was ordained to the priesthood in September 1943. He served as an assistant pastor at St. Michael's church, Whitemore and latter as pastor of St. Mary's Ute. From Ute he moved to Fort Dodge where he served as chaplain at Mercy hospital. He also served at one timeas pastor of Immaculate Conception parish, Lehigh, and at Christ the King parish, Dayton, where the church was built under his direction. He later was appointed pastor of St. Mary's parish. Mallard, where he continued to serve until ill health forced his retirement several years ago. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Mary Pick of Alton: five brothers, Rev. Henry Pick and Dr. Elmer H. Pick, both of Remsen, Sylvester Pick of Le Mars and Frank J. and Lawrence P. Pick, both of Alton, and four sisters, Sister Mary Bertilda, O.S.C., of Hospers and Sister Mary Marius, O.S.F., and Sister Mary Lea O.S.F. both of Dubuque. and Mrs. A. J. Pottebaum of Alton.
