Description	:	Rev Robert Ernest Poston, 95, of Hendersonville, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at Pardee Hospital. He was a son of the late Wilson and Kate Poston and was also preceded in death by his wife, Yvette Maynard Poston, who died in 1999, and wife, Alma Poston, who died in 2012. A native of Laflin, MO, he had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and had been a resident of the western NC mountains since 1976. Read More	Rev Robert Ernest Poston, 95, of Hendersonville, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at Pardee Hospital. He was a son of the late Wilson and Kate Poston and was also preceded in death by his wife, Yvette Maynard Poston, who died in 1999, and wife, Alma Poston, who died in 2012. A native of Laflin, MO, he had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and had been a resident of the western NC mountains since 1976. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis and a bachelor of theology degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Ernest loved the Lord and dedicated his life to spreading His word. He pastored at various churches in NC: Bethlehem Baptist Church in West End, Roberts Chapel Baptist Church in Pendleton, Westside Baptist Church in Tabor City and Chimney Rock Baptist Church in Lake Lure. He also served as a pastor and home missionary in Kentucky. He taught at Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute for twenty years after retiring from the ministry, and he recently published a meditation on the Lord's Prayer, Praying to Our Father. He attended Fruitland Baptist Church. He leaves behind his sons David Poston and Jon Poston with wife, Anita; daughters Julia Poston and Susan Willingham with husband, David; grandchildren Beth Key with husband, Peter, Robbie Poston, Jonathan Poston, Thomas Poston and Anna Poston; and great-grandchildren Katie Del, Abbie, Chloe, and Ellie Key.
