| Description | : | Robert Hudson Howren was the son of Rev. James Campbell Howren 1787-1876 and Mary White 1790-1826. He married Martha Marie Durant b.1821 d.1893.He was a clergy member of the South Carolina Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was in Florida leading a mission to convert Native American tribes and the local population. He was also involved in the Indian Wars in the 1830's. He was a primary member in the organization of the Florida Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
