Description	:	Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Brethren, for the Rev. Ulysses S. Campbell, who died this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Richard Smith, in Roanoke. Mr. Campbell was born Oct. 17, 1869, in Nelson County, son of the late Francis Jefferson Campbell and Katherine Stover Campbell. His mother and President Eisenhower's mother were first cousins. Read More	Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Church of the Brethren, for the Rev. Ulysses S. Campbell, who died this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Richard Smith, in Roanoke. Mr. Campbell was born Oct. 17, 1869, in Nelson County, son of the late Francis Jefferson Campbell and Katherine Stover Campbell. His mother and President Eisenhower's mother were first cousins. He was married to the late Miss Alice E. Falls in 1890. She preceded him in death in 1947. Mr. Campbell was called to the ministry at the Brethren Church, Nelson County in 1898 and was ordained an elder two years later. He received a citation for over 50 years of service in the ministry in 1952. He is survived by the following children, John E. Campbell, of this city; Morta Campbell, Casper Campbell, Montgue Campbell and Mr. W. H. Mathney, all of Lynchburg; Mrs. Smith of Roanoke; one foster child, James Monroe Falls, of this city; one half-brother, Ottie Campbell of Massies Mill. Two sons preceded him in death, Willard and Leon Campbell. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The body will lay in state at the church in Lynchburg from 12 noon Wednesday until the hour of the funeral. Waynesboro News Virginian-date of paper: January 3, 1955
