Perdew gave an address to a large and interested congregation at Community church Sunday morning on the Canadian government control of liquor. The Rev. Perdew has lived in Canada and spent two months there last fall and is familiar with the conditions. According to Rev. Perdew, the conditions are much the same as in the old saloon day with drunkenness on the increase. Liquor, he says, can be bought by the glass, served at small tables in the hotels. A $2 license permits one to buy a case of liquor or three cases of wine or beer. The bootlegger, he says, also flourishes. The only benefit the Rev. Perdew sees is that the government derives $50,000,000 revenue each year.
