Description	:	Rex Allen Woollen, 76 years of age, of rural Wilcox, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020, at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City, Nebraska. Rex was born on January 14, 1944, in Holdrege, Nebraska, the youngest of three children born to Loren and Ardyce (Lindstrom) Woollen. Rex was born on January 14, 1944, in Holdrege, Nebraska, the youngest of three children born to Loren and Ardyce (Lindstrom) Woollen. Rex received his education from Wilcox Public Schools and graduated from Wilcox High School, with the class of 1962. Rex was a tenacious football player for only 140 pounds. He pursued higher education from McCook Junior College, and Kearney State College, graduating in the spring of 1967. On October 8, 1964, Rex was inducted into the United States Air Force. He worked at Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. Following his honorable discharge, Rex served in the Reserve Capacity for 17 years. On March 13, 1983, Rex was united in marriage to Betty Keck. The couple made their home on a farm near Wilcox, where they engaged in farming. Rex loved to sing, especially with the First Baptist Church Choir, church musicals, and Karaoke. Rex and Betty later divorced. Rex was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kearney, Nebraska, the Wilcox Lions Club, and the Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed sponsoring the First Baptist Church radio services, in honor of all veterans and those serving our country. In addition to loving the Lord, he loved his Country. Every Veteran’s Day, Rex would donate to allow home bound people listen to the Word of Lord, for Sunday services. Rex was also active with the Nebraska Farmers Union and was a state delegate in Washington, D.C. In 1992, Rex was in a severe auto accident. Rex never let his accident slow or stop him from doing what he loved, farming. He was preceded in death by; his parents; and his brother, Jack Woollen, in 1951; and two premature children. Rex leaves to celebrate his life; his sister, Karen Miller of Hyattsville, Maryland; two nieces: Pam Miller of Ruther Glen, Virginia; and Janice Liddle of Old Say brook, Connecticut; two nephews: Dan Miller of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and Jon Miller of Arlington, Virginia; along with many cousins, and extend family.
