Description	:	Rex David Johnsen, age 48, of Modale, Iowa died Thursday, December 16, 1999 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iwas. Rex was born Febuary 9, 1951 in Logan, Iowa to Lynn and Juanita (Heim)Johnsen. He attended and graduated in 1969 from the Logan High School in Logan. Rex was a three year State wrestling qualifier becoming one of the first Lo-Ma State Wrestling Champion his senior year at 145 pounds. Read More	Rex David Johnsen, age 48, of Modale, Iowa died Thursday, December 16, 1999 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Missouri Valley, Iwas. Rex was born Febuary 9, 1951 in Logan, Iowa to Lynn and Juanita (Heim)Johnsen. He attended and graduated in 1969 from the Logan High School in Logan. Rex was a three year State wrestling qualifier becoming one of the first Lo-Ma State Wrestling Champion his senior year at 145 pounds. After his graduation he engaged in farming and entered the National Guards in 1970. Later he established "Johnsen's Pub" in Logan which he operated for many years. Most recently, he was a self-employed construction worker, doing primarily concrete construction. He was married to Lorraine Peterson, August 30, 1991 in Missouri Valley, Iowa. To this union one daughter, Paige, was born. Rex favorite pastime was spending time with his four children, Lynn, Jodi, Kristi and Paige. Rex could also be found spending many hours playing cards and watching football with his many, many friends. Rex never knew a stranger and valued his every friendship. Survivors include his wife: Lorraine of Modale, Iowa; son: Lyn Johnsen of Denver, Colorado; daughter: Jodi Johnsen of Hartford, Connecticut; Kristi Johnsen of Hartford, Connecticut; Paige Johnsen of Modale, Iowa; mother: Juanita Johnsen of Woodbine, Iowa; brothers: John of Logan, Iowa; Charlie of Woodbine, Iowa; Gale of Woodine, Iowa; Rodney (Barney) of Bennington, Nebraska; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Rex was preceded in death by his father Lynn and his grandparents. Visitation with the family was held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hennessey-Schumacher Funeral Home in Logan, Iowa, with Jingle Bells by the 2nd Grade Class. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 20, 1999 at the First Methodist Church in Woodbine, Iowa.
