He attended schools in Monon. Mr. Stinson served in the US Army from 1948-1951. He was a life-member of the Monticello VFW. He married Sandra Pufahl on July 31, 1954 in Monticello and she preceded him on Sept. 7, 2012. Rex enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved spending time with his family and friends. Rex was born on April 18, 1930 in Chalmers, IN to the late Russell A. and Gleyna (Brown) Stinson. He attended schools in Monon. Mr. Stinson served in the US Army from 1948-1951. He is survived by his sons: Jerry Stinson (Evelyn Sue) of Lafayette and Gary “Poke” Stinson (Gayle) of Brookston; daughter, Nancy Laflen (Denny) of Forest; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded by his wife, Sandy; sisters: Helen Roth, Aline Sommers and Betty Beamer; son-in-law, Fred Whiteman. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the noon service on Wed., Feb. 11, 2015 at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi with Pastor Leland McReynolds officiating. Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery, Monon, IN with Military Graveside Rites by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard.
