He was born October 12, 1917 in rural Ashland, Nebraska to Vern and Grace (Nightingale) Sherman. Rex attended the District 3 country school until the 8th grade. He was united in marriage to Alpha Reisen on November 9, 1956 in Omaha, Nebraska. Rex farmed west of Ashland and was involved in agriculture trucking until his retirement. Sherman, 95 of Ashland, Nebraska, entered into rest on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Midlands Hospital in Papillion, Nebraska. He was born October 12, 1917 in rural Ashland, Nebraska to Vern and Grace (Nightingale) Sherman. Rex attended the District 3 country school until the 8th grade. He was united in marriage to Alpha Reisen on November 9, 1956 in Omaha, Nebraska. Rex farmed west of Ashland and was involved in agriculture trucking until his retirement. After retirement he and Alpha moved to Ashland and lived in Kendel Heights until her death. He moved to the Oxbow living center two and a half years ago. He attended Cedar Hill Methodist Church and was a member of Cedar Hill Cemetery Board for several years. Every weekend Rex could be found dancing. He loved dancing, polka music, and playing cards. Rex had a great sense of humor and will be missed by family and friends. Rex was preceded in death by wife, Alpha; brothers, Leon and Emory Sherman; sisters, Verna Hoffman and Blanche Jewell.
