Description	:	Rex Joseph Votipka was born to Frank and Mollie Kohler Votipla on July 12, 1925, near Exeter, and passed away on April 13, 1986, at his home in Exeter, at the age of 60 years, 9 months and 1 day. Read More	Rex Joseph Votipka was born to Frank and Mollie Kohler Votipla on July 12, 1925, near Exeter, and passed away on April 13, 1986, at his home in Exeter, at the age of 60 years, 9 months and 1 day. He was one of four children in the family. Rex attended grade school in District 25 and graduated from the Exeter High School in 1942. He attended Colorado State College in Fort Collins for one year, where he was in pre-veterinary science and a member of the Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. He was married to Mary Ann Fujan of Ithaca on June 9, 1947. Rex spent his entire life in or around the Exeter community, except for three years in Lincoln, where he was with the City Police Department. A serious accident in 1953, in which his mother was killed and in which Rex sustained serious head injuries, somewhat limited his ability and as years passed, made life difficult for him. He was engaged in farming and was a lover of animals, and was noted throughout the area for his Purebred Herefords and Registered Poland China hogs. Rex loved the farm and the commitments that came with it. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need. He was involved in the seed business for several years and during this time participated in the usual community organizations. In 1954, he entered the service and spent his entire enlistment time at Fort Bliss, Tx., where he was discharged in 1955. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mollie; his sister, Rita of Geneva, and by an infant brother. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of Exeter; brother, Tom Votipka of Exeter; two nephews, Robert of Exeter and Ronald of Geneva; a niece, Marsha of Houston, Tx., other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Exeter on Wednesday, April 16, with Monsignor H.H. Ingenhorst officiating. Mrs. Henrietta Harre accompanied Mrs. Cherlyn Rassett, who sang "How Great Thou Art" and "The Lord's Prayer." Those serving as pallbearers were Christopher Fujan, Ronald Fujan, Larry Furasek, Richard Furasek, Robert Votipka and Ronald Votipka. Interment was in the Bohemian National Cemetery at Milligan.
