Description	:	Rex Morton, 77, of Eureka died Thursday morning at his home following a short illness. He was born in Eureka on June 20, 1881, and was general store manager for the Pacific Lumber company at Dyerville for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Eel River Lodge No. 147, F and AM, and of Rohnerville Chapter No. 76, Order of the Eastern Star. Read More	Rex Morton, 77, of Eureka died Thursday morning at his home following a short illness. He was born in Eureka on June 20, 1881, and was general store manager for the Pacific Lumber company at Dyerville for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Eel River Lodge No. 147, F and AM, and of Rohnerville Chapter No. 76, Order of the Eastern Star. His parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. William Morton came to Humboldt county in the 1860s. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Morton of Eureka; a son, Donald Morton of Eureka; a brother, William G. Morton of Seattle, Wash.; nieces, Mrs. Audrey Little of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Dorothy Collins of Fortuna, and Miss Katherine Morton of New York City. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. from the Pierce Mortuary with the Rev. Lester F. Eisel officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be John Richie, Robert Morgan, Nick Norgan, Fred Jordan, Joseph McDonald and Arthur Danielson.
