Description	:	Reyer L. "Roy" Rens, 82, of rural Alton died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at Sioux Center Community Hospital in Sioux Center, Iowa, following a lengthy illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, Iowa, with the Rev. Jack Gray officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Sioux Center. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday, with the family present 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. Mr. Rens was born Sept. 16, 1917, near Hull, Iowa, the son of Lammert and Mary (Willemsen) Rens. He was raised in the Hull area. He married Margaret Hoogland on May 15, 1941, in Middleberg, Iowa. She died Aug. 18, 1954, in Alton. He married Marlys Scholten on March 25, 1960, in Alton. She died Oct. 28, 1981, in Sioux City. He married Luella (Pyle) Kammeraad on Dec. 26, 1990, in Little Rock, Iowa. He farmed in the Siouxland area and raised and solded Chester White hogs for 50 years. He was a member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church and attended Men's Brotherhood. Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Jacob and Sharon of Boring, Ore.; five daughters and their husbands, Grace and Dick Thomas of Pella, Iowa, Margaret and Bob Schelling of Orange City, Barbara and Paul Bettes of Sparta, Mich., Ruth and Ned Weitgenant of Hills, Minn., and Carol and Jeff De Young of Chenango Forks, N.Y.; a son-in-law, Gordon Nyhof of Gresham, Ore.; three stepsons, Bill Kammeraad of Hartford, Conn., Robert Kammeraad and his wife, Kathleen of Middletown, Conn., and Gary Kammeraad and his wife, Natalie of Bethel Park, Penn.; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Gerrit of Hull and John of Rock Rapids, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brendine Nyhof; a brother, Bill; and two sisters, Angeline Zoet and Johanna Kuyper.
