"Susie" Barger, 56, of Centerville died Sunday, May 25, 1997, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She was born Oct. 31, 1940, in Centerville, the daughter of Peter and Maxine (Green) Buttel. She married Dale Barger. He preceded her in death. She married Dale Barger. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Mike Barger of Centerville and Steve Barger of Leon; three brothers, Bruce Buttel of Centerville, Tom Buttel of Western Springs, III., and Ted Buttel of Ottumwa; and a sister, Debbie Harbour of Ottumwa. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She graduated from Centerville High School in 1959 and from William Penn College in 1977. She was a school teacher for Seymour Community Schools. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Miller, C.PP.S , officiating. Burial will be in Confidence Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lange Funeral Home with a scripture reading at 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established to Seymour School's library or St. Mary's Catholic Church and contributions may he left at the funeral home.
