HERBERT BRYANT IS CALLED BY DEATH Last Rites at the Methodist Church Sunday Mrs. Rhoda Catherine Bryant, wife of Herbert Bryant, died at her home in this city Friday, January 13, following an illness of more than a year. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. A. Worrell, assisted by Rev. A. F. Fulton. The Misses Helen Griffith, Marian Wilson, Eileen Wilson and Corinne Nichols sang with Miss Nellie G. Curran as pianist. The interment was at Elmwood cemetery, the pallbearers being Max Bryant, Walter Bryant, Orval Bryant, Cecil Bryant, Frank Eddleman and Eddie Brown, all nephews of the deceased. Relatives called here for the last rites were: Mrs. Blanche Muselik of Coloma, S. Dak.; Mrs. Roy Stevens and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bryant, Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Dowell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Rieke, Carl Dunnegan, Frank and Opal O'Dell, of Burlington; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Berry and family of Keosauqua, Iowa; Miss Anna Bryant of Ottumwa; Mrs. Fred Bragg and son and Mr. and Mrs. George Tiege and family of Iowa City; Alfred Eddleman and Family of Alexandria, Mo., Mr; and Mrs. Harve Calloway, Mrs. And Mrs. Eddie Brown of Muscatine; Mr. And Mrs. Ed Hilland and family of Clinton, Iowa; Mrs. Perry Thompson and Will Mattux of Wapello, and others. Rhoda Catherine Bryant was born in West Salem, Illinois, May 21, 1886. At the tender age of 14 years she united in membership with the United Brethren church, later transferring her membership to the Methodist Episcopal church in Morning Sun. On January 28, 1903, she was united in marriage to Otis Warren. To this union were born two children, Clifford Virgil Warran and Blanche May Muselik of Coloma, South Dakota. Mr. Warren preceded her in death. On September 16, 1907, she was united in marriage to Herbert Bryant of Morning Sun. To this union nine children were born, two sons preceding her in death. Those surviving are: Opal Stevens, Lucile Dowell and William Bryant of Burlington; Anna Bryant of Ottumwa; Harold, LeRoy and Hazel Marie at home. Other surviving relatives, are one brother, George Coon of Morning Sun; two half-brothers, David and Ralph Walser of Manson, and three half-sisters, Bertha Berry of Keosauqua, Nancy Tomson and Susie Surge of Morning Sun.
