He was born Sept. 23, 1931, in Fort Madison and was a lifelong local resident. He was an industry technician at the Iowa State Penitentiary with 16 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Eagles Lodge and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees and was a past president of the former Sacred Heart School Parent-Teacher Association and a past chairman of the Fort Madison Catholic School System's bingo program. He served with the Army during the Korean War.. On Oct. 30, 1954, in Fort Madison he married Delores E. Knox, who survives.. Also surviving are four daughters. Mrs. Steven (Chris) Benda and Maggie Auge and Mary Auge, all of Fort Madison, and Julie Auge, Lawrence, Kan.; a sister, Mrs. Albert (Mary) Schwab, Keokuk; and two grandchildren and four nephews.. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl A. and Margaret Helling Auge, and by a brother.. The body is at the King-Lynk Funeral Home where friends may call after noon Friday and where the rosary will be recited by the Knights of Columbus at 7:30 Friday evening and by the parish at 8 Friday evening.. A memorial is being established with the Fort Madison Catholic School Athletic Department. Contributions may be made at the King-Lynk Funeral Home..
