Gisler, 78, 213 Johnson Circle, died at Medical College of Ohio Hospital, Toledo, at 12:20 a.m. today, Saturday, March 27, 1982. He was born in Henry County, September 10, 1903. Parents were Wesley and Emma (Throm) Gisler. August 15, 1936 he married Fern McCleary, who survives. Gisler was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Holgate Masonic Lodge. He attended Defiance College for two years and graduated from Ohio State University in 1927. He taught for 31 years, retiring in 1964 from the Defiance County school system. He coached baseball and basketball for three years in Coshocton County, taught vocational agriculture for eight years at Ney and Farmer Township Schools and also taught for 20 years at Jewell and Ayersville High Schools. He was a 4-H advisor for eight years. After retiring, he built and repaired antique clocks. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William (Judy) Stambaugh, Longwood, Florida; two grandchildren; three brothers, Donald of Napoleon, Ralph of Lake Worth, Florida, and Dallas, 104 Westfield Ave., Defiance; and a sister, Evelyn, Maumee. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Mast and Mock Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. George Holcombe will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and all day on Monday. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
