Description	:	Richard A. Poffenroth, 76, of Spokane Valley, WA, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011, in Spokane Valley. Born February 26, 1934, in Endicott, he was the son of John A. Poffenroth and Rebecca Bafus Poffenroth. Richard graduated from Endicott High School and then studied heating and air conditioning and mathematics at Columbia Basin Community College. He lived in Eastern Washington his entire life. Mr. Poffenroth was an award winning, accomplished wood carver and carved many precious gifts for family and friends. Poffenroth, 76, of Spokane Valley, WA, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011, in Spokane Valley. Born February 26, 1934, in Endicott, he was the son of John A. Poffenroth and Rebecca Bafus Poffenroth. Richard graduated from Endicott High School and then studied heating and air conditioning and mathematics at Columbia Basin Community College. He lived in Eastern Washington his entire life. Mr. Poffenroth was an award winning, accomplished wood carver and carved many precious gifts for family and friends. His family meant more than anything to him, and he was a very loving and giving person. Richard enjoyed baseball, especially the Mariners, as well as was an avid fisherman. He loved all animals, and was particularly fond of all the dogs and cats he had over the years. He was a confirmed member at Trinity Lutheran Church at Endicott and also was a member at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Spokane Valley. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Poffenroth, of Spokane Valley; two sons John Poffenroth (Martha); Paul Richard Poffenroth; and a daughter, Mary Jane Zipperer (Robert); five grandchildren, Eric (Maile), Megan (Cordean), Jennifer (Christopher), Lisa (Jeff), and Robin; three great-grandchildren, Kadence, Charlie, and Hayden. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Loren Poffenroth. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Endicott. Burial will follow at the Endicott Cemetery.
