Description	:	Richard "Dick," Metzger 79, of Laurel, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at his home. Richard was born in Laurel on Nov. 4, 1932, to August and Louise Metzger. He married Mary Ellen Bieber on April 10, 1954, after he had returned form the Army after serving in Korea from 1950 to 1953. Dick worked for the City of Laurel from the age of 16, until going into the service and then when he returned he continued working for the city until April of 1982. He was a volunteer for twenty years for the Laurel Volunteer Fire Dept. and was an active... Read More	Richard "Dick," Metzger 79, of Laurel, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at his home. Richard was born in Laurel on Nov. 4, 1932, to August and Louise Metzger. He married Mary Ellen Bieber on April 10, 1954, after he had returned form the Army after serving in Korea from 1950 to 1953. Dick worked for the City of Laurel from the age of 16, until going into the service and then when he returned he continued working for the city until April of 1982. He was a volunteer for twenty years for the Laurel Volunteer Fire Dept. and was an active member of the American Legion Post #123. Dick Enjoyed wood working, gardening and yard work and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Floyd and Stanley, his sisters Irene Bieber and Dorothy Swan. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Ellen; sons, Leslie (Carol) of Glendive, Steven of Billings, and Patrick (Diane) of Superior; and a sister, Marian (Irvin) Siemsen of Laurel; grandchildren, Jeffry Metzger of Glendive, Crystal (Travis) Nagel of Laurel, Amber (Scott) Nelson of Homestead, Mandi Metzger of Fort Riley, Kan., and Malori Metzger of Superior; great-grandchildren, Baylee, Abagail, Steele, and Shyloe Nagel, Alexa and Rebecca Nelson, and Leilani Hunter. Memorial graveside services will be held at Yellowstone County Veterans Cemetery, Laurel.
