Box 203, Rison, Arkansas 71665, or American Legion Post # 32, 3200 South Main Street, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71601 Born at Pine Bluff, Arkansas on May 24, 1932, he was a son of the late Fred M. and Carrie Bono Vining. He attended Pine Bluff High School and completed his education while serving with the U. S. Air force during the Korean War. He received an Award of Recognition from the Oklahoma Wing of The Confederate Air Force and also graduated with honors from Turbo Jet Engine School at Albany, Georgia. As a young man, he was a partner in the Vining Brothers Paint Contractors Company, Then he worked 27 years at Berry Aviation at Grader Field in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He held the following airman certificates/licenses: Mechanic Airframe and Power Plant, Restricted Radio and power Plant; Restricted Radio-Telephone Operator; Commercial Pilot; Inspection Authorizations; PT 6-Turboshaft Heavy Maintenance; and numerous Cessna Aircraft Training Certificates and Licenses. Mr. Vining was director of aircraft maintenance at Grider Field. He attended Wesley United Methodist Church and was a member of American Legion Post # 32. He coached pee wee basketball and football at Forrest Park Elementary School. He served on the Taylor Baseball Field Board an of Directors and was an avid supported of Watson Chapel Wildcats athletic programs. He was very in sports at Pine Bluff Boys Club (now the Seabrook UMCA). Survivors include his wife, Wanda Lunsford Drewett Vining, whom he married on January 2, 1954 at Greenville, Mississippi, a son : Mike Drewett of Pine Bluff, a brother; Robert Vining of Hot Springs and two grandchildren.
