Description : Richard was born in Richland county, Ohio. He served four years in the Civil War as a private in Company D, 82nd Ohio regiment and was later promoted to Corporal. He married Susan Zegar on March 19, 1866 in Knox county, Ohio and they had ten children, of which five survived him: C.J. Brollier, Mrs. D. Pointer, James Brollier, V.C. Brollier, and Mrs. C.H. Metts, as well as 23 grandchildren.
