Description	:	Richard C. Holle, 78, of Moline, died on May 1, 2015, at Heartland Health Care in Moline. Dick was born on July 23, 1936, in Clinton, the son of Claude and Rose Walsh Holle. He married Dona J. Wallen on Feb. 7, 1959, in Clinton. Dick graduated from the St. Mary's High School in 1955 and worked with the Canteen Food Service in Moline for 21 years, retiring in 1985. Read More	Richard C. Holle, 78, of Moline, died on May 1, 2015, at Heartland Health Care in Moline. Dick was born on July 23, 1936, in Clinton, the son of Claude and Rose Walsh Holle. He married Dona J. Wallen on Feb. 7, 1959, in Clinton. Dick graduated from the St. Mary's High School in 1955 and worked with the Canteen Food Service in Moline for 21 years, retiring in 1985. Dick was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America and enjoyed many years with his son, Mike, who with his father's help, achieved Eagle Scout. Dick was a member of the Knights of Columbus Leo Council 716 of Carbon Cliff, having reached the 4th Degree. He also was very involved with the Special Olympics and their Tootsie Roll drive. Dick also was a member of the FOE Aerie 1112 and forever will be remembered for his volunteer work on the bingo floor. Survivors include his wife, Dona J. Holle, Moline; son, Michael (Nancy) Holle, Taylor Ridge; sisters, Margaret Tholen, Clinton, Joan (Charles) Horner, Clinton; brothers, Jim (Margot) Holle, Palm Desert, Calif., and Norman (Margaret) Holle, Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Frank, Ed, Jerry and Andy; and sisters, Mary and Pat. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in Clinton, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Special Olympics or to the First United Presbyterian Mission Fund. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff of Gentiva Home Healthcare for their assistance while Dick was still at home and to the caring staff at Heartland Health Care for their care during Dick's last days on Earth.
