Description	:	Richard Carlton Shurling, 53, of Georgetown died Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mr. Shurling was born October 22, 1962, in Georgetown, a son of the late Herman Shurling and Ruby Sharpe McMasters. He served several years in the South Carolina National Guard and worked at John Michael’s Wholesale Nursery more than 20 years. HE had a passion for collecting and restoring classic cars, motorcycles, pistols, and antique pocket watches. He enjoyed traveling to the mountains and spending time with family and friends. Read More	Richard Carlton Shurling, 53, of Georgetown died Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mr. Shurling was born October 22, 1962, in Georgetown, a son of the late Herman Shurling and Ruby Sharpe McMasters. He served several years in the South Carolina National Guard and worked at John Michael’s Wholesale Nursery more than 20 years. HE had a passion for collecting and restoring classic cars, motorcycles, pistols, and antique pocket watches. He enjoyed traveling to the mountains and spending time with family and friends. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He was survived by his mother; his fiancé, Amy Prosser of Georgetown; two sons, Thomas Shurling of Andrews and Michael Shurling of Georgetown; two granddaughters, Hailey Jade Shurling and Allyiah Keefe; three sisters, Debbie Shurling of Lancaster, Cathy Shurling of New Martinsville, WV, and Lisa Shurling Barnes of Aiken; a brother, Kenny Mims of Murrells Inlet; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Rosko Biscuit Shurling. He was predeceased by his father and a brother, Cecil Mims. Funeral services with Military Honors were Wednesday, July 6, 2016, in the chapel of Graham Funeral Home. Burial followed in Mount Olive Cemetery.
