Description	:	Richard Christian Bristol, the son of Oswald Christian and Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Schilling) Bristol, was born at Waco on March 8, 1914 and died in Aurora on Jan. 10, 2010, at the age of 95. Richard graduated from Waco High School and then took a welding class. He helped his family on the farm. On July 22, 1936, he was united in marriage to Irma Fehlhafer at Utica. Read More	Richard Christian Bristol, the son of Oswald Christian and Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Schilling) Bristol, was born at Waco on March 8, 1914 and died in Aurora on Jan. 10, 2010, at the age of 95. Richard graduated from Waco High School and then took a welding class. He helped his family on the farm. On July 22, 1936, he was united in marriage to Irma Fehlhafer at Utica. Richard started to farm near Waco from 1936 to 39. They moved to Benedict and farmed there for eight years before moving to Hampton and farming there for three years. In 1950, they bought their first farm at Aurora. Over time he bought several more farms and Inc. the farms with his family. He retired in 1991, but continued to live on the farm. Richard and Irma were married nearly 73 years. Irma passed away on March 24, 2009. Richard was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church. He was active in agricultural activities such as soil and water conservation. Richard was a charter member of Hamilton County Groundwater Association. He helped organize N.R.D. boundaries in 1988. He received the Hamilton County Pork Producers award. Richard was also a member of the Aurora Lion's Club and he also had served as Vice President for the Plainsman Museum. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, brothers, Walter, Roy and Milton Bristol and sister, Helen Erks. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Diann (Earl) Jensen of Aurora, Carolyn (Stanley) Tanner of East Poland, Maine and Beverly (Vaughn) Berck of Aurora; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
