He was born July 29, 1933 at Crofton, Nebraska to Joseph and Veronica (Solko) Foxhoven. At the age of 15 he moved to Mapleton, Iowa and later lived at Danbury, Iowa. Foxhoven, 78 years, of Fremont, NE died Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Nye Pointe Health & Rehab Center at Fremont, NE. He was born July 29, 1933 at Crofton, Nebraska to Joseph and Veronica (Solko) Foxhoven. At the age of 15 he moved to Mapleton, Iowa and later lived at Danbury, Iowa. He moved to Storm Lake, Iowa where he owned Rich's Cites Service Station. He then moved to Columbus, NE and in 1970 he moved to Fremont. He was employed by Vigortone Feeds for 30 years, retiring in 1995. After retiring, he drove school bus for Fremont Public Schools and Bergan High School for 7 years. Richard married Noreen M. Wessling on October 8, 1955 at Danbury, Iowa. She died January 22, 2002. He later married Elsa Reutemann Dusatko on November 8, 2003 at Omaha. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont, Knights of Columbus Council 1497 of Fremont and was a member of 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Father Leo Raus Assembly of Fremont and North Bend. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #200 of Fremont and the Forty's Dance Club at Omaha. For many years, he ran the Bergan Booster Club Bingo. He loved fishing, camping, traveling, golfing and dancing and spending time with his family and his dog, Fritz. He is survived by his wife, Elsa; sons, Rick & wife, Patty Foxhoven and Greg Foxhoven all of Fremont; daughters, Judy & husband, Dean Papa of Fremont, Joan Filarecki and friend, Jay Palmer of Gretna, NE and Jeanette & husband, David Walter of Fremont; step-daughters, Marie & husband, Dale Geist of Whitefish, Montana, Ellen Pesavento & friend, Paul Revord and Andrea & husband, Randy Porter all of Omaha; brothers, Denny & wife, Marlene Foxhoven of Ida Grove, IA and Ron & wife, Kathy Foxhoven of Spencer, IA; sisters, Alice & husband, Gene Wimmer of Mapleton, IA and Karen Foxhoven of Denison, IA; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Noreen. Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Tuesday, December 13, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. Father Jim Keiter and Pastor Gib Botten will officiate. A Vigil Service with a Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 7 PM on Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont. Visitation will be Monday from 2 PM to 8 PM and with the family receiving friends on Monday from 5 PM to 7 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at St. Patrick's 1hr prior to service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
