He was born March 28, 1925, in Clark County, Ohio, the son of Leonard J and Chrystal (McClenen) Neer. Dick was a 1943 graduate of Urbana Local High School. Read More	Dick Neer, of Urbana, passed away Monday, February 8, 2010, surround by his loving family in Mercy Medical Center, Urbana. He was born March 28, 1925, in Clark County, Ohio, the son of Leonard J and Chrystal (McClenen) Neer. Dick was a 1943 graduate of Urbana Local High School. He was a lifetime farmer and retired from ViDuke Farms. He was a member of the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church. He was a 20 year Rush Township Trustee and a 58 year member of the Woodstock Lions Club joining in 1952. Dick was a supporter of both the Mechanicsburg and Triad Athletic programs, he was a member of the Triad Booster and was a past booster of the year; along with Monte Kemper, for 20 years, they made the rolls for the Triad Booster club dinners. He was an honorary chapter farmer, presented to him by the Triad FFA. Dick was a great outdoorsman; he enjoyed fishing in Canada and deer hunting in Pennsylvania, often with his son, Duane. Dick was passionate when it came to his family, he attended every event that his grandchildren took part in, from sports or school activities to the fair; he was there to support them. He loved to work with wood in making keepsakes for his family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, whom he married Nov 23, 1944, Juanita (Thaxton) Neer, daughter, Vicki Lynn (Clyde) Moore of Paducah, KY; sons, Duane Neer of Bellefontaine and Kevin (Stacey) Neer of Mutual; grandchildren, Corey (Peggy) Moore, Robin (Jerel) Crilow, Kyle Neer, Codi Neer, Mollie Neer, Betsy Neer and Maggie Neer; great grandchildren, Carrie Grace, Kaitlin Rose, Ciara Crilow, Peyton, Emme & Parker Moore; brother, John (Jeanne) Neer of Mingo; as well as several nieces and nephews. Dick is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Jane (Claude) North and many card playing buddies from the Woodstock Lions Club. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-8 pm on Friday, February 12, 2010 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 13, 2010 with Rev Dr Harley Roston officiating. Burial will follow in Woodstock Cemetery. Serving as pall bearers, his grandchildren, Robin Crilow, Kyle Neer, Codi Neer, Molli Neer, Betsy Neer, Maggie Neer and Corey Moore; honorary pall bearers, David Neer, JR Spain, Ned Bahan, Harvey Donohoe, Jim Stimmel, Clyde Moore and Tim Peterson.
