(Jensen) Blaine, was born on May 7, 1944 in Harlan, Iowa. At a very young age, Richard’s family moved to Carthage, Missouri where Richard started his schooling and was baptized at the First Baptist Church. They then returned to Harlan where Richard continued his schooling. While in the tenth grade, Richard was involved in a serious gun accident and had to undergo many surgeries and several months of recovery. Instead of continuing his education at Harlan High School, Richard decided to go straight to trade school in Omaha, Nebraska. After trade school, Richard worked at the Top Notch Body Shop in Omaha where he worked for several years. He then went to work for the Omaha Public School system as a bus driver and maintenance worker. He also worked at Horseman’s Park at Aksarben as a security guard and drove a mini-bus for the Nebraska Medical Center. Richard was a very proud uncle and loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He took them fishing and also made it a point to drive the sports team bus so he could watch them compete in baseball and football. He loved taking photos of them and cherished the time he spent with each and every one of them. He loved to travel with his parents and friends. He also went on several hunting and fishing trips with coworkers over the years. He also found the Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa where he loved playing his favorite “Lucky Dog” slot machine. He also had a passion for racing that he shared with his twin brother Ronald and father. He loved watching Harlan native Tiny Lund race and even helped wash and wax his car on several occasions. Richard continued to live in Council Bluffs, Iowa with his parents and after their deaths he remained in Omaha for several years. As his health declined he moved in with his brother Ed in Omaha while recuperating from a serious heart surgery. He later made his home at a few assisted living centers in Council Bluffs before settling at the Risen Son Retirement Community in 2016. It was here that he died on October 1, 2017 having attained the age of seventy-three years, four months and twenty-four days. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his twin brother Ronald Blaine and his wife Elaine of Rancho Cordova, California; sister Marlene and her husband Larry McDonald of Palm Coast, Florida and brother Edward Blaine and his wife Dorothy of Omaha, Nebraska; nieces and nephews; other family members and many friends. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
