Description	:	RICHARD 'DICK' CLIFTON 1930-2015 Richard "Dick" Clifton, 84, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday (Jan. 3, 2015) at Genesis-Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born Oct. 29, 1930, in Eagleport, and was the son of the late Robert C. and Sylvia (Kildow) Clifton. Mr. Clifton retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 plus years of service. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Read More	RICHARD 'DICK' CLIFTON 1930-2015 Richard "Dick" Clifton, 84, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday (Jan. 3, 2015) at Genesis-Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born Oct. 29, 1930, in Eagleport, and was the son of the late Robert C. and Sylvia (Kildow) Clifton. Mr. Clifton retired from the United States Postal Service after 30 plus years of service. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a volunteer for many community organizations including being one of the founders for Rails to Trails where he helped build many benches and bird houses. He was a member of the Cambridge Amateur Radio Association and was awarded "Ham of the Year" as he worked all states and over 300 countries. He also volunteered for "Adopt a Highway," "Christmas Paradise," and "Highway Safety Breaks." He was also a member of Guernsey and Muskingum Genealogical societies. He enjoyed photography, fishing, gardening, watching birds, and riding his bicycle, which included many miles on the trail with his bike buddies. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Todd) Clifton, who passed away April 27, 1998; one son, Michael; two brothers, James and Robert. He is survived by one son, Joseph (Lesa) Clifton of Belle Valley; two daughters, Cheryl (Paul) Curtis of Gahanna and Gwendolyn Clifton of Blacklick; one brother, Jack (Bonnie) Clifton of Stockport; one brother-in-law, Charles (Jeanne) Todd of Dresden; one sister-in-law, Violet Clifton of Cumberland; grandchildren, Casey Michael, Brody Ryan, Caitlin Amanda, Eric James, Jacie Patricia, Darren Bradley; two great-grandsons, Urijah and Kaiden; several beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where services will follow at 1 p.m. with Evangelist Mark Beros officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery with military services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
