A gathering for family and friends will be held from 5-8pm, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Iles Westover Chapel, 6337 Hickman Road, Des Moines, IA. Private interment will be held at a later date. Richard was born April 9, 1952 in Marshalltown, IA to parents, Duane and Dolores (Anderson) Muckler. Richard was born April 9, 1952 in Marshalltown, IA to parents, Duane and Dolores (Anderson) Muckler. He graduated from SEMCO High School in Gilman, IA in 1970 and received his Masters and Ph.D. from Iowa State University. On June 1, 1974 he was united in marriage to Julie Robinson in Ames, IA. He was an Agronomist and worked as a corn breeder for ASGROW. Julie and Richard enjoyed the opportunity of living in Ames, Slater, IA Urbandale, IA Paducah, KY, Cincinnati, OH, Flemington, NJ and finally came home to Clive, IA. Richard was an avid reader and gardener and enjoyed following Iowa State University Athletics and spending time on his family farm. Dick is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Julie; son, Kyle Muckler (Jessie Scott); mother-in-law, Martha Robinson; brother, Kim Muckler (Janine); nephew, Adam Muckler (Abbie); niece, Beth Muckler and an aunt, Frances Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Dolores Muckler and father-in-law, William Robinson. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established and may be made to the family in care of Iles Westover Chapel. Online condolences are welcome at www.ilesCares.com.
