Richard was born October 25, 1932 in Spring Ranch, Nebraska to Henry & Marie (Ockinga) Davis. Richard was baptized by Rev. E.C. Meyer on April 2, 1933, and was confirmed by Rev. Richard Fruehling on May 25, 1947. On March 29, 1953 he married JoAnn Hinrichs at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil by Rev. Charles Miller. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. Richard was baptized by Rev. E.C. Meyer on April 2, 1933, and was confirmed by Rev. Richard Fruehling on May 25, 1947. Richard farmed for a couple of years and then worked construction and carpentry. He worked for 20 years at the Meat Animal Research Center in Clay Center. He served on the Village Council, Glenvil Fire & Rescue for 20 years, Glenvil American Legion, and served on the Immanuel Lutheran Church Council. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and his favorite hobby was woodworking. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Richard said "It is better to wear out than rust out." Richard was preceded in death by: father, Henry Davis. Survivors are: Wife: JoAnn Davis – Glenvil, NE. Children & Spouse: Craig Davis & friend Chris – Glenvil, NE. Brian Davis – Glenvil, NE. Pamela & Jeff Binfield – Wood River, NE. Patricia Davis & friend Brian – Hastings, NE. 9 Grandchildren: 11 Great-Grandchildren: Mother: Marie Davis – Hastings, NE. Brother & Spouse: Ronald & Kay Davis – Blue Hill, NE.
