Casketbearers were: Robert Jacobsen, Charle s Davis, Michael Davis, Chris Jacobsen, Terry McClain and Jackie Davis. Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery with Military Honors by the America n Legion Post 357 of Coon Rapids. Davis is survived by his mother, Mrs. Harriet Davis, and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Robert (Verneta) Geyer, Tacoma , Wash., Mrs. Robert (Alfreda) Jacobsen, Perry, William, Coon Rapids, Leonard and Alfred, Bellevue, Nebr. and Mrs. Rodney (Millie) Williams, Grandview, Tex. Coon Rapids Enterprise February 19, 1976 Page 2 Richard E. Davis, son of Alfred and Harriet Mary Smouse Davis, was born January 25, 1926 near Coon Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from the Coon Rapids High School in 1944. He served his country in the Korean War. A lifelong resident of Coon Rapids, Richard was a lineotype operator by trade. He worked for the Coon Rapids Enterprise until 1970 when he started his own business. Richard died instantly after being struck by a truck north of the Coon Rapids business district on the evening of February 11, 1976. He was 50 years, and 16 days old. He was preceeded in death by his father and two brothers. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Harriet Davis, a resident of Thomas Rest Haven and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Robert (Verneta) Geyer, Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. Robert (Alfreda) Jacobsen, Perry, Iowa, William, Coon Rapids, Leonard and Alfred, Bellevue, Nebr. and Mrs. Rodney (Millie) Williams, Grandview, Texas. Also many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was a member of the American Legion and of the Odd Fellows.
