Description	:	Richard Franklin Way II, lived in the Township of Holly Hill, South Carolina. He was a prominent farmer, owning many acres, and six sharecrop farms. He was responsible for one of the first cotton gins in Orangeburg County and for building most of the business buildings on one side of the main street of Holly Hill. He was also one of the original founders of The First National Bank of Holly Hill(now First National Bank of South Carolina). Due to circumstances not known, Hattie Mahoney Way, at age nine, went to live with her aunt and uncle, A. H. Mahoney of Summerton (then called Calvry Township), a brother of her mother, and his wife, her fathers sister, Sarah Amanda Way. They are both buried in the Holly Hill Cemetery.
