| Description | : | Richard Beers, born March 27, 1844, came to Nebraska from Rockford, Illinois in 1871 and took up farming, purchasing the NW1/4 Section 10 in Osage precinct. In the winter of 1876, he returned to Rockford and on January 30 was married to Rhoda Marsh. They resided on the farm in Osage precinct until 1908 when they purchased a home in Syracuse and retired from farming.
