Description	:	Richard Jongeward Jr., 60, Marion, ND, died of an apparent heart attack at his residence Wednesday morning, July 6, 1988. The funeral was conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at the Marion Lutheran Church with Rev. Jeffrey Engholm officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery. The funeral was conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at the Marion Lutheran Church with Rev. Jeffrey Engholm officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery. Richard Jongeward Jr. was born January 12, 1928 at Marion, North Dakota, the son of Richard and Olga Jongeward. He was educated and grew up there. He served with the United States Navy during World War II. Following military service, he returned to Marion, where he farmed and did carpenter work. He married Jean Elsner at Marion June 12, 1948. He was a bus driver for the Marion Public School system for 15 years. He was a member of the Valley City Eagles and the Marion Citizens Band Radio Club. He is survived by his wife, Jean; a daughter and a son, Dawn Jongeward, Marion; and Joseph Jongeward, Valley City; his mother, Olga Jongeward, Marion; a sister, Mrs. Edwin Schultz, Jamestown; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter and his father. Members of the Marion ‘CB’ Club are asked to meet at the church to attend the funeral as a group.
