Richard attended country school and then Dwight Assumption High School. He was a lifelong farmer. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph J. and Ludmilla "Lillian" Coufal; son, Eugene Coufal; great-grandson, Adam Thomas Kobza; sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and George Meduna; brothers-in-law, John Bartunek, Ernest Vandenberg, Edwin Gruntorad, Harold Lowe. Richard is survived by his wife Marcella "Marcy" Coufal, Seward; children and spouses, Marvin and Colleen Coufal, Bee, Dan and Patty Coufal, Dwight, Dennis and Mary Coufal, Brainard, Rick and Brenda Coufal, Dwight, Cathy and Rick Skoda, Seward; 14 grandchildren and spouses, Aaron Coufal, Stacey Coufal, Kaitlyn Coufal, Melissa and Nate Fuerhoff, Michelle and Nick Kobza, Daniel, Jr. and Barb Coufal, Travis Coufal, Stephanie and Garret Mueller, Tonia and Brad Jelinek, Trent and Heather Coufal, Tara and Kyle Yates, Christine Towle, Korin and Bobby Miller, Alesha Skoda; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings and spouses, Ted and Evelyn Coufal, Brainard, Florence and Gilbert Kobza, Seward, Sally Vandenberg, Brainard, Geraldine Coufal, David City; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Gruntorad, Dwight, Aldeane Lowe, Sutton; and a host of friends.
