Read More	Richard Lavon Marshall (Pops), age 76, a longtime resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas passed from this life on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was born on December 29, 1945 in De Queen, AR. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lavon Marshall (Big Dad), Martha Ora Stacy Marshall (Granny). Rick is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carla Tapscott Marshall, two sons; Kevin Marshall and his wife Melanie Marshall of De Queen, AR, Charlie Marshall of Lockesburg, AR, one daughter, Tammie Fry and her husband Larry Fry of Lockesburg, AR. He had ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Freddy Marshall (Jeannie); and number of nephews and nieces and a host of friends. Rick and Carla began their life together in Odessa, TX. He was a boiler maker welder. He and his father saved money until they were able to start a logging business back in his hometown of Lockesburg. Rick was a successful business owner. He was the mechanic who kept everything operational. He was a master at making things work even though it may not look the prettiest. He engineered many devices and equipment that were not even produced and this allowed Lockesburg Timber to be very successful. He was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill MBC. He served as Deacon for a number of years at Old Union MBC and Pleasant Hill MBC. He drove the church van for many years and picked up kids to bring them to church. He loved Christ and served where the Lord wanted him. Rick was also a faithful committee member of Old Union Cemetery. He loved gardening. His idea of small was different than most. He had already made plans to start this year's garden. Everyone around would comment on how well that Rick could grow a garden. Rick was devoted to his family. He loved to spend time with his family, hunting and fishing on the Little Missouri River at Pa's Place He was a part of his children and grandchildren's lives as much as possible. His ways may have seemed odd to some but, if you listened, he would teach you the values of working hard and the right and wrong way of life. Rick was the cornerstone of much of his family and will be greatly missed until we all get to meet again. Funeral services for Mr. Rick Marshall will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2022 in the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Fry officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Union Cemetery
