Description	:	AND THE ANGELS SANG…….Richard Lee Consbrock of Hot Springs Village Arkansas ended his earthly journey at the age of eighty on Monday May 24th at The Pines in Hot Springs Arkansas after residing there for twenty three days. The chaplain visited with him an hour before his passing and began singing hymns which brought a room full of angels from The Pines to join in the chorus. The chaplain visited with him an hour before his passing and began singing hymns which brought a room full of angels from The Pines to join in the chorus. He spent ten years in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a graduate of the U.S. Naval School of Music at Washington D.C. and retired as Musician First Class Petty Officer. Eventually he was transferred to San Diego California and finally to Newport Rhode Island. He was an accomplished musician of many instruments and finally taught himself to play guitar. After his Navy service he played in combo groups around southeast Iowa for their dancing and listening pleasure. Richard was employed as a draftsman at the Iowa Ordnance Plant for a couple years and then at J.I.Case in Burlington Iowa for twenty-six years as a draftsman and then as a Graphic Artist in the Technical Publications Department and retired at the end of 1997. He also attended Southeastern Community College. After visiting Hot Springs Village for many years he and Norma retired to the Village where he enjoyed his passion of playing golf and bird watching and seeing the deer, bob cats, and even a mountain lion crossing in the back yard while living the good life in the Ouachita Mountains. He and his wife Norma of sixty-one years enjoyed traveling and cruising and their home. They also enjoyed many years of square dancing and later ball room dancing. In his spare time he entertained himself and many others as a magician of close-up table magic using cards and coins. Richard was the proud and loving father of James (Christina) New London Iowa, Allan (Wil) Phoenix AZ, and Brian (Emily) in Memphis MO. He was preceded by their daughter Kara Sue in 1973 and his father and mother Robert and Dorothy (Dearing) Consbrock and his sister Janet Lea. He has four grandchildren and three great children. He donated his body to Genesis M.E.R.I at Memphis TN for medical education and research institute.
