Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Beverly Mullins Parker and the son of the late Ervin Parker and Ruth Clary Parker. Mr. Parker retired from the U.S. Army and attended Corinth Baptist Church. He enjoyed coin collecting. He loved his grandchildren and his dog. In addition to his wife, Mr. Parker is survived by one son, Richard Parker Jr. (Patricia Belue Parker) of Spartanburg, S.C.; two daughters, Lori Parker Wallace (Brent R. Wallace) of Gaffney and Julia Deann Parker of the home; four sisters, Betty Parker Smiley (Bob), Dorothy Crocker, Sandra Waddell, and Brenda Richardson; seven grandchildren, Taylor Parker, Cherokee Wallace, Morgan Parker Wilson, Mason Beverly Wallace, Christian Parker, Braedon Parker, and Krystina Vickers; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Wilson and Paisley Wilson and a brother in law, Roger Zucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry Parker, Annette Medley, and Frances Zucker. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Gordon Mortuary of Gaffney Chapel with Rev. Dwight Easler officiating. Interment will follow at Frederick Memorial Gardens. The family respectfully requests that all attendees wear masks. The family will be at their respective residences. The Book of Memories is available at www.gordonmortuary.com.
